Write clearly, then hear how it sounds
Scribe checks how easy your writing is to read, how long it takes to read or say out loud, and which words you lean on. Type or dictate, then listen back to catch what your eyes skip.
A readability score
See how easy your text is to read, the school grade it suits, and how long your sentences and words run on average.
Reading and speaking time
Know how long a post takes to read, or a speech or video script takes to say.
Dictate
Talk instead of typing. Useful for first drafts, and for anyone who finds typing hard.
Read aloud
Hear your text read back. Clumsy sentences are much easier to hear than to see.
Questions people ask
What is a good readability score?
For most writing aimed at the public, aim for a score most adults can read easily: short sentences and everyday words. Scribe shows your average sentence and word length, which are what move the score, so you know what to shorten.
Does dictation work on my phone?
Dictation and read aloud use your browser's own speech features. They work in most modern browsers, and best in Chrome and Edge.
Who is it for?
Anyone who writes for other people: bloggers, marketers, teachers, students, and people writing speeches, scripts or emails that must land the first time.
Is it free?
Yes.
