Share files
Send files by a private link with a password, an end date and a download limit, or collect files from anyone through a link.
Send files
- 1Choose Send files and add the files. They upload straight away; you can keep adding while they do.
- 2Name the link and add a note. Choose when it ends and, if you like, how many downloads it allows.
- 3Add a password to stop anyone else who sees the link from opening it. Send the password separately, by text or a call.
- 4Ask for their name and email to see who downloaded each file. Leave Email me when they download on to hear each time.
- 5Make the link, then copy it, share it on WhatsApp or by email, or show its QR code.
Collect files
- 1Choose Collect files, say what you need and give instructions, for example a photo of an ID and a utility bill.
- 2Share the link. People give their name and email, choose files from their phone or computer, and send. They need no account.
- 3Files appear under the link with who sent them, and you get an email. Only you can open them.
- 4Files from other people can carry viruses: open them with care. Programs cannot be uploaded.
Manage a link
- 1Open a link to see how often it was opened and downloaded, and the activity: who, when, on what kind of device.
- 2Change its end date, set or remove its password, take files out, or switch it off. A switched-off link can be switched back on.
- 3Delete with its files removes the link and everything in it for good.
Good to know
- On the Free plan a link lasts up to 7 days and you can keep 500 MB of shared files at a time. Paid plans keep links open longer, or with no end date, and hold more.
- Files are deleted a week after their link ends, unless you turn that off for the link.
- Wrong passwords are limited, so a password cannot be guessed by trying many.
