Uptime monitor
Watch your websites and APIs: alerts when they go down and come back, response times, certificate warnings and a public status page.
Watch an address
- 1Choose Watch an address and paste it, such as https://yourshop.com. It is checked straight away, then on the schedule you pick.
- 2Under More, add a word the page must contain to catch pages that load but show an error, an exact code to expect from an API, and how many failed checks in a row count as down.
- 3You are always emailed. Add more addresses, or a Slack, Discord or Teams webhook, to tell others.
When something goes down
- 1After the failed checks you chose, you get one alert saying what went wrong, then another when it answers again, with how long it was down.
- 2The monitor shows uptime over a day, a week and a month, a chart of response times for the last day (move along it, or use the arrow keys, for each check), and every stretch of downtime.
- 3Check now runs a check at once. Pause stops checks and alerts, for example during planned work.
- 4For https addresses the security certificate is read twice a day, and you are warned two weeks before it ends.
Status pages
- 1Under Status pages, give a title and choose the monitors to show, then share the link with customers.
- 2It shows whether each one is working now and a bar for each of the last 90 days. Addresses and error details are never shown.
Good to know
- The Free plan watches three addresses every 5 minutes; paid plans watch more, every minute.
- Only public addresses can be watched. Checks come from our servers, so a site that blocks unknown visitors may appear down.
- Check history is kept for 90 days.
